the Ford homeThe Dr. James Ford Historic Home welcomes classroom visits any day during the week by appointment.

The home offers a look at life in Wabash, Indiana in the 1870's with exhibits that share information on family life, Dr. Ford's participation in the Civil War, dining and etiquette, household tasks of the 1870's, historic preservation, Victorian-era flower and vegetable gardens, and a stone barn with buggy, sleigh, tack, and tools.

We encourage you to make reservations at least two weeks in advance. In addition, we recommend that the size of the visiting class be 50 or under to allow for an optimal learning experience and one adult for every 10 students is the preferred adult to student ratio.

Please allow for 1 to 1 1/2 hours for a tour of the home, garden, and barn.

Group rates are $2 per student with no charge for the teacher and adult chaperones.

Please complete the online reservation form or call 260.563.8686 to schedule your tour.
